Polarization cell replacement ( PCR / SSD )
PCR or Solid State Device is a device that can accommodate both fault , induce current and lightning strike. As per latest NACE standard, it is now a compulsory to use this device on every monolithic isolation joint ( MIJ ) and also Insulation Gasket / flange.
Spark Gap
Spark gap is a simplest lightning protection device that must be used on pipeline monolithic isolation joint ( MIJ ) and Insulation gasket joint. NACE have now deemed it to be a compulsory item on all pipeline and tank storage application. Unlike PCR / SSD, it does not protect against fault or induce current. It is available in ATEX Ex and Exs model.
